Notifications

Updated

What you're notified about

  • New job: a business you follow posted a job. If it fits your industries or work type you get "New job match".
  • Application update: a business moved your application. The in-app message says one of: "Your application is being reviewed.", "You've been shortlisted!", "The business wants to get in touch.", "Your application wasn't successful this time." or "You got the job!"
  • New message: a business wrote to you.

You aren't notified about things you did yourself, like applying or withdrawing. Following a business doesn't notify you of its jobs that were already open.

The lock screen stays private

An application update push only says "One of your applications has an update. Tap to view." The result is shown inside the app, so nobody reading your lock screen learns it. Tapping a notification takes you to the job or the chat.

Turn notifications on

The welcome setup asks, and you can answer Enable notifications or Not now. Later, open Settings (the gear icon on the Resume, Follow, Apply and Activity screens) and tap Turn on notifications. If you declined at the phone level, the app shows Open Settings so you can allow Grapevine there. When they're on, Settings says Notifications: On.

Blocked businesses

If you block a business, you aren't notified about it.
